Our Green Home

We invite you into our green home - at least our working home - at Inkwell Medical Group. Its design and features are consistent with our values of promoting healthy and sustainable lifestyles. We provide the healthiest possible environment for your medical care.

When you come to our office you enter a beautiful, warm and efficient medical office. Natural light floods the space, reducing energy needs. Windows offer lovely views of the Cascades foothills. Rich wall colors are of toxin-free paints. Cabinet materials and carpets meet strict health safety standards to eliminate emission of fumes. Furnishings all are green-certified. Ventilation is energy efficient, with windows that open to allow natural airflow as weather permits. During office construction virtually every scrap of waste paper, plastic and building debris was recycled.

The upshot: a prestigious “Gold Certification” by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program! Inkwell Medical Group is one of only two medical facilities in the Eugene/Springfield area to have this patient- and earth-friendly LEED certification.

Going green with our office was a natural step since our building (The Inkwell Building built by Arlie and Company) also is LEED certified - at the highest level of Platinum.

Our green home is gold-certified but not gold-plated. Our facilities are modest in size and furnishing. We did this to keep costs and overhead low so we can better meet our goals of giving our patients the time and attention they expect and deserve. As with health and sustainable living, it’s all about finding the right balance.
