“The foundation of my profession as a nurse practitioner is based on health promotion and disease prevention. It’s where I thrive. I believe that our environment has enormous influence on our health.”
Health promotion and disease prevention. Keeping people well. It directs Eva’s compassion for her patients and her passion for helping others find good health.
It’s reflected in typical comments from her patients: “Thank you for your generous time, terrific expertise and warm bedside manner. You are so easy to talk to. I love your office – very hip and slowed down to a human pace.”
Eva is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC), meeting standards for that certification through the American Nurse Credentialing Center. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners of Oregon, Lane County Nurse Practitioners, and Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health. Eva received her M.S. in Nursing and her nurse practitioner training at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C.
She has worked as an ICU nurse and in health clinics in Northern Virginia. Prior to partnering with Dr. Hurtado to create Inkwell Medical Group, she worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a large family practice clinic.
In addition to her outstanding medical experience and educational record, Eva brings to her practice a lifetime of real-world experience. With family roots in rural Cottage Grove she also has lived and worked in California, Arizona, Michigan and Virginia. After a successful career in financial management and raising three kids, Eva had the opportunity to pursue her dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner and started college at the age of … well, let’s just say she wasn’t your typical nursing student.
Eva spends her free time enjoying family (including three young grandchildren), cooking gourmet meals for her lucky husband (a retired environmental professional), reading, boating and enjoying Oregon’s natural wonders.
